Believe Statements
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, perfect in love and righteousness, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, worthy of worship and obedience.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s eternal Son, the only mediator between God and mankind. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and fully shared and fulfilled our humanity in a life of perfect obedience to God. His death in our place revealed God’s divine love and upheld God’s divine justice, paying the penalty for our sins and removing our guilt. He rose from the grave the third day, victorious over death.
We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the uniquely inspired written word of God, possessing God’s authority in all matters of faith and life. They are to be interpreted according to their context and purpose, in reverent obedience to the Lord who speaks through them.
By faith in Jesus Christ we receive God’s gift of eternal salvation, are reconciled to God, become God’s children, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. We look forward to Christ’s return, when He shall raise the dead, judge the world, separate the righteous from the wicked, and establish his eternal kingdom.
One Church
We believe in One Holy, Christian church, united in the bonds of love and endowed with the gifts of the Spirit. The church is called to serve Christ by preaching the gospel and making disciples of all nations, administering the sacraments, striving for social justice, and by relieving human distress and need.
